Dear All please advise
I have to buy a bike 125 or larger engine
preferably equiped with Self starter and disc brake
my options are very limited.
1, Superpower 125 Deluxe
1.a. New – Currently not available in market
1.b. Old – Interestingly used ones available for sale in Karachi are without Self starter.
2. Hero125 – (regular available in market with both options) but this bike has no market history or reputation.
3. GS150 – Only self starter option is available.
3.a. New at cash – Price is out of range.
3.b. New on installments – price can be afforded.
3.c. Old – affordable, but what is the guarantee, machine is in good condition and fault free.
4. Honda CG125 Deluxe (without self starter)
4.a. New – Price is out of range.
4.b. Old - Old – affordable, but what is the guarantee, machine is in good condition and fault free.

I have been in trouble for last one year due to bad chassis, i fear that it might happen with another GS150.

another interesting fact I have found one GS150 2006 model whose chasis felt streight, but engone was noisy,

I am a big nay sayer to bikes other than Japanese brand. Even though Honda and Suzuki are also having locally manufactured parts, but still their quality is far better than other bikes, like Super Star, Habib, Metro, etc.
The unfortunate situation is that at the moment no single bike is available with all the options as you require. GS150 has self starter but comes without disk brakes and is also a victim of several manufacturing faults to which Pak Suzuki has not bothered to heed.
Deluxe comes with disk brake but has no self starter, but is otherwise reliable compared to GS150.
As it appears to me, you have the option to buy a GS150 and get installed disk brake on it, or buy a Deluxe and get a self starter installed on it, in which case I shall suggest to go for the Deluxe.
Yet another option is to wait for, say another year or so and hope that Yamaha jumps in with something special or that Honda’s next bike fulfuills our requirements and desires.

Well said
could not wait, buying another bike was imminant.
considered both options and decision went in favour of Self start and now I own 3 GS
this 3rd one is equipment with radial tyre, HID head lamp and is streighter than previous 2 although need some minor tune ups servising etc…
Thanks for considering my problem as yours Jazak Allah

It came to my mind that we do have one bike with the features as you require. It is Piaggio Storm125, but again built with Chinese parts, so on reliability you might have to compromise. However, there are lesser reported srious issues with this bike as compared to GS150.

Unfortuanely Ravi was also out of range and again 2nd hand was not currently available in Karachi. only one piece dound and was also was very expensive for me. My plan is to replace at least one of these in next few months with Honda preferably cd200.

One of my neighbour is interested in my GS150 (2011) and offering me reasonable amount.
I might sell him.
Next bike I might buy a CD185 or CD200 what does expert say about it?

That will be nice, both are good bikes. Good luck.

My vote also goes to cd200. Also, you can install disk brake in cd200 should you require it.

^ Disk brake in CD200 may not be a good idea. Another friend tried it on his bike but the wheel jammed, he has had no time to tend to his bike since then and now he keeps that bike covered under black cloth :p

If we both were in same city, we could have managed something of common interest

@ Update of 17-01-13 post
I helped my neighbour in purchase of Jul 2012 model GS-150 today. Really enjoyed the ride on the way home.

really wish my neighbour many many happy rides, although he would not buy my bike now but still I am very happy for him, and joy and happiness I witnessed in his children’s eyes.

But my above question and still unanswered, CD200 got big nay from all the local supporters and that Idea was dropped.
How many votes do I receive for Ravi 125?

Also one respectable member suggested CG125 Deluxe and installation of Self starter, How many votes for this idea?
Also I would request Mr. Imran Bhatti to shed some light on the possibility of it option.
